Mike is currently part of the United Nations Higher Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) 2023 innovation fellowship a platform that enables Fellows to share innovation methods and mindsets with their colleagues, boosting organization-wide capacity to creatively solve tough challenges.

Mike began his humanitarian journey as a youth volunteer with Kenya Red Cross and has extensive experience in youth engagement and volunteering.
Prior to being appointed Innovation focal person, he served as youth board member in the KRCS youth board and a CLT at the British Council SIDP Program. He was also previously a Senior member of the National Youth Service, where he underwent paramilitary training and served his national building at ASAL regions in Kenya.
An engineer by training, Mike holds certificates in creativity and innovation, social enterprise impact learning, automotive engineering and a licensed digital literacy trainer (CLT) with expertise in E-commerce.
He has experience in solid waste management and has mentored youth groups in innovative plastic waste management approaches on recycling and up-cycling.
